Abstract

The world is facing new challenge, a threat to public health and world’s economy. Corona Virus Covid-19 started in Wuhan, China on December 2019. The virus spread to almost all countries in the world until today, according to WHO this virus is into a pandemic stage. Covid-19 is not only affected to public health, but also world’s economy. New Zealand has become one of the countries who infected by the virus since March 2020. With the first 100 cases in the middle of March 2020, New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern took the unprecedented step for closing the borders entirely to almost all non-citizens or residents. Start with hard and earlier acts than most of other countries, New Zealand Government prepared a policy which they called as “Unite Against Covid-19”, this policy include all information that New Zealanders need to know about Covid-19 virus, this policy is a good example for communication aspect that must be build between the government and the public to work together against the virus. With this policy, New Zealand, under Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, still being among countries with the lowest Covid-19 cases in the world until the end of 2020 and a country with lowest per capita death rates which caused by Covid-19 until December 2021. New Zealand took early action to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
