Abstract
This study discusses the use of telemedicine as an idea to replace consultation due to the Covid-19 pandemic between health workers and patients, as well as the communication process that occurs in it. The theory used in this research is the Diffusion of Innovation Theory and Social Information Processing Theory. The purpose of this study is to analyze the extent to which Telemedicine as an innovation can be used, and to examine the barriers and advantages that occur in the communication process. This research is descriptive with a qualitative approach and in-depth interview method to 8 (eight) sources consisting of specialist doctors, patients, midwives, and the business team. The results show that as an innovation or new idea, Telemedicine can be accepted and used while still paying attention to certain rules. The communication process that is established also experiences obstacles in terms of essence and connection. The advantage that is often conveyed by the speakers is the flexibility offered by Telemedicine so that it can be done anytime and anywhere.
