Abstract
This article argues that Europe is likely to continue facing challenges related to the radicalization of Muslim youth, the rise of Islamist extremism, and acts of terror. These issues persist. Amid complex sociopolitical dynamics and the limitations of government security forces, particularly in Belgium and other European nations. Many of these security agencies are under-funded, rely on low-paid operatives, and remain susceptible to infiltration by fundamentalist movements. Additionally, the proliferation of black-market weapons further exacerbates Europe's vulnerability to terrorist attacks and militant activities disguised under religious motives. These threats pose significant challenges at a time when the European Union itself faces concerns over internal fractures and potential instability.
